The Misplaced Only Error – Three Times!

Today’s comics page features three (count ‘em!) strips with a misplaced only error. (It’s easy to fix.)

The knight in today’s Wizard of Id didn’t mean that his health insurance “only covers” stab wounds (meaning it doesn’t do other things, like heal them). He should have said, “My health insurance covers only stab wounds” (meaning it doesn’t cover other injuries, such as getting bashed by a club).

In the strip below, Blondie should have said “Your direct deposit pay statement shows only $31.06.”

And Earl Pickles should have said, “I can skip it that many times only when the water’s frozen over.”
